It’s that time again: International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX begins Wednesday evening, October 30th. One of the many features of the show is the Celebrity Mini Quilt Silent Auction. IQA award winners, IQA quiltmaking friends, and Festival teachers are invited to submit a small quilt for auction, with the proceeds going to support the activities of the International Quilt Association. For the fourth time, the invitation list included me!
My entry is called Roundabout and measures 25″ x 25″.
Four “Capstone” blocks were modified to create this hand appliquéd and machine quilted wall quilt. Capstone was published in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 7.
Over the years, each of my Silent Auction entries has somehow represented one of my IQA award-winning quilts and this year is no exception. Capstone features the center medallion from the 2011 IQA Founders Award-winning quilt Flourish on the Vine.
So far, my quilts have raised $755 in support of the International Quilt Association. Place your bid for Roundabout at the Celebrity Mini Quilt Silent Auction at International Quilt Festival this week, and I hope to see you there!
