Bridal Tea is a story of women and heritage and tradition.
My grandmother collected beautiful china teacups as did my mother, my aunt and my husband’s grandmother. Some of these treasures have made their way to my own collection.
The teacups were brought out for special occasions, for those times when women gather, for bridal showers and trousseau teas. Fancy sandwiches and dainty squares would be served on tiered serving plates and the tea and coffee poured from the polished silver tea service. Didn’t we even pretend these things as little girls with our first toy tea sets?
Perhaps tea parties are becoming a thing of the past. But for me, they are a part of the women of my past, my heritage and maternal tradition.
